The Friends of the St. Croix East End Marine Park are excited to announce the 1st Annual Stand Up Paddle Board Race for the St. Croix East End Marine Park. The event is taking place on Sunday, September 4th, 2011 at the St. Croix Yacht Club. All proceeds from the event will be put directly towards achieving the mission of the St. Croix East End Marine Park.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding, commonly known as SUP is an easy and fast growing sport worldwide. With a growing USVI community of SUP-ers and the sports' low impact, this is an ideal event to introduce to St. Croix. Join us for a fun filled day.

The Friends are pleased to announce that The Buccaneer Hotel, our exclusive partner for race participant accommodations,is offering event registrants a rate more than half-off published room rates for race weekend! Race Course
The current tentative course is a 1.5 mile loop (red line) in Teague Bay with a 100m run between loops. In between each loop, racers will exit the water and run to the entry point 100m away. Assistants will be on hand to help with your board.
The elite category will do 4 loops, for a total of 6 miles.
The open category will be doing loops, for a total of 3 miles.
The kids race (white line) will be a short and fun race close to shore.
